Training Program Info:
The Toledo Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) is committed to not only providing an educated, well-trained workforce through a cooperative labor-management education program, but also to helping workers develop the complex skills, knowledge and abilities needed to retain highly paid, prestigious jobs in the electrical construction industry. The Toledo Electrical JATC pledges to educate workers through diversified on-the-job training supervised by qualified journeypersons and related technical classroom instruction.


Training Director: Nathan Eaton
Educational History: Nate graduated from Whitmer High School; attended Owens Community College and then completed the 5 year Inside Apprenticeship program at the Toledo Electrical JATC. Since becoming a Journeyman Inside Wireman, Nate has attended many journeyperson education classes to further his education. Nate has since graduated from the 4 year NJATC’s National Training Institute at the University of Michigan..
Bio: Nate is a proud member of IBEW Local 8; he is a Safety committee member; he serves on the Benevelent Committee; the By-Laws committee; the Entertainment committee; the “Perch” Tournament chairman; he serves as a Toledo Precinct committee member and is a member of Damascus-Collingwood Lodge No. 643 F. & A.M., Toledo, OH

Instructor: Raymond Struffolino
Educational History: Raymond graduated from Macomber High School; he completed the two year Residential Training Program with the JATC and went on to complete the five year Commercial Program as well; Raymond had one year of Safety Training with Ohio State.
Bio: He was a residential Wireman from 1979 to 1981; Commercial Industrial Journeyman wireman from 1986 to present and an Instructor for Residential and Commercial training at the JATC from 1993 to present.

Instructor: James Hamel
Education: A class of 2012 graduate of the National Training Institute with diplomas as a Master Instructor/trainer from the University of Michigan.
Bio: 1997 - 2008 Journeyman Installer/Technician for several Local 8 contractors. Eleven years as a field service technician as well as project foreman. Currently a full time instructor at the Toledo Electrical JATC since 2008; he teaches apprentice classes in Telecommunications and assists the electrical and residential programs. He is also a certified BICSI instructor.

Instructor: Christopher Roth
Education: Chris graduated from Roy C. Start HS in 1999; completed the residential apprenticeship program in 2002 amd the inside apprentice program in 2007 at the Toledo Electrical JATC. Chris has taken many journeyperson education classes and had furthered his education by attending and graduating from the National Training Institute in 2015 at the University of Michigan. Chris continues to attend the National Training Institute every summer to renew certificates and further his education. 
Bio: Chris is a proud member of IBEW Local 8 and has worked for many contractors as a journeyperson and foreman. Currently a full-time instructor since 2016; he instructs the residential and inside apprenticeship classes and many journeyperson classes including OSHA 10, 30 & NFPA 70E Safety courses. 

Instructor: Patrick Cryan
Education: Patrick graduated from Perrysburg HS in 2001; US Navy Gas Turbine Systems Technician A School 2003; Toledo Electrical JATC residential apprenticeship graduate of 2006; Toledo Electrical JATC Inside apprenticeship graduate of 2013; Patrick has taken many journeyperson education classes and has furthered his education by attending the National Training Institute from 2014 - 2019 at the University of Michigan. Patrick continues to attend the National Training Institute every summer to renew certifications and futher his eduation. 
Bio: Patrick is a veteran of the United States Navy. He has been a proud member of IBEW Local 8 for 13 years. He has worked for several contractors over that time as an apprentice, journeyperson and as a foreman. Patrick is currently working as a full-time instructor a tthe Toledo Electrial JATC. He instructs the Residential and Inside apprenticeship classes along with a couple of Journeyperson classes including NFPA 70E and Code of Excellence. Patrick is married to his wife Alicia and has town sons, Cole and Carter. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family at sporting events, camping, fishing and hunting.
